The Smith's Family Session | Gainesville, Fl.

This past weekend I got to spend time with this wonderful family! The Smith’s are no stranger being in front of my lens. Last year, I photographed them on their anniversary weekend and after Elizabeth booked her family’s session this year we laughed about it being the SAME exact weekend as the year before.

On the day of their session, the forecast called for rain…. from EVERY direction. On the drive into Gainesville I must admit I was a little worried about the weather from the grey clouds I was looking up at and I am not talking overcast, it was as if the bottom was going to drop out at any second. Everywhere was dark but, upon turning onto the street of our location it was actually PERFECT lighting! The sun was setting- and if you know me and have ever had a session with me, you know I LOVE shooting at golden hour {yes, the light makes my heart sing}.  After a short walk from the parking lot through the woods to the beautiful bridge, we arrived. These are a few of my favorites from their session.

Wyatt, my how you’ve grown from a year ago to now!  A year ago he was just starting to crawl and now he is full blown RUNNING.  You guys, He. Was. Running.  He is so full of energy and facial expressions. His smile is what got me the most. It was so cute to see the Wyatt he was last year to the Wyatt he is this year and I can’t wait to see who he will be next year.  Isn’t he ADORABLE?!

Ms. Lorelai has grown so much as well! Still as beautiful as ever and so full of personality and just a sweet little girl, and the love she has for her Momma and Daddy shines through the images. She really enjoyed telling me about her Halloween costume which, when she told me it was no surprise because I couldn’t imagine a more perfect little girl to play Belle from Beauty and the Beast than Ms. Lorelai. Look at her beautiful smile <3

And of course I couldn’t do a blog post without posting some of Chris and Elizabeth! 6 years this year for these two! {I had to bribe the kids with candy for a few moments while I took some alone images of their loving and hilarious parents}  I saw more laughs from them during this time than the whole session and I loved seeing them interact. Happy Anniversary you two! See you next year.

Elizabeth did offer some advice to any family preparing for a family session-
"Just let your kids be themselves. Embrace what makes them who they are because in years to come you'll cherish the photos of them with their favorite blankie or even with a pouty face. Don't stress and enjoy."
